Global Passport: Sand Painting

Event Date:
02/23/2013 - 1:30pm to 2:30pm

Learn about Indian culture, history, and celebrations through art with Shakun Maheshwari. We will be exploring the uses of temporary art - rangoli designs are a temporary floor art that people create and redo on a daily basis in India in order to bring good luck and happiness to the home. Create rangoli designs with flour or colored sand, which can be displayed temporarily or transferred to paper.

Saint Paul Public Library’s Global Passport series presents free cultural programs for kids grades three to six. Pick up an event postcard at your library and bring it to each program to get stamped. Just like a passport! Supported by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
