ArtStart

ArtStart’s mission is to inspire creativity and illuminate the connections between art, culture and the environment. ArtStart's 5 main programs include: 1.) ArtStart’s ArtScraps, a creative materials reuse center offering low-cost discards and scraps donated by manufacturers, businesses, and individuals for artists, families, educators, and other arts and social service organizations; 2.) ScrapMobile Community Workshops, our portable art car which brings creative projects led by professional artists to a community event or workshop promoting reuse and creative problem solving through art; 3.) School residencies and summer interdisciplinary cultural arts immersion programs for children and teens; 4.) our annual EcoArts Fest, a free family celebration held each May at Harriet Island to celebrate and honor our greatest natural resource, the Mississippi River; and, 5.) our ArtGallery featuring art work created by professional artists.
