MDAW Summer Speech & Debate Camp

    The Minnesota Debate and Advocacy Workshop (MDAW) for middle and high school students is open for registration!

    We are so excited to return to in-person summer camp on Augsburg University’s campus in 2022! Join us for deep learning, skill building, fun, and community this summer.

    MDAW is a collaborative effort between The Minnesota Urban Debate League (a program of Augsburg University) and The University of Minnesota Debate Team. Our goal is to increase access to speech & debate for schools, coaches, and students entering 5th – 12th grade providing a high quality, virtual summer camp experience to students in the Twin Cities Metro, the Upper Midwest region, and across the US!

    Scholarships, discounts, and payment plans are available. Early Bird until 4/1.

    Week 1:

    June 20-26

    High School Policy Debate- Advanced (Virtual & In-Person): 9am – 6pm
    Middle School Policy Debate (In-Person): 9am – 3pm
    High School Student Congress (In-Person): 9am – 6pm
    High School Public Forum (Virtual): 9am – 6pm (NEW!)

    Week 2:

    June 27-July 1

    High School Policy Debate- All Levels (Virtual & In-Person): 9am-6pm
    Middle School Congress: 9am-3pm
    High School Public Forum (In-Person): 9am – 6pm (NEW!)
    Middle School Policy Debate (Virtual): 9am – 3pm
    High School Debate & Argumentation – (Virtual & In-Person) (NEW!)

    Week 3:

    July 5-July 9

    High School Policy Debate- All Levels (Virtual & In-Person): 9am-6pm
    Middle School Speech Camp (Virtual & In-Person): 9am – 3pm
    Middle School Spanish Debate Summer Camp: 9am-3pm (NEW!)

    In-person camps take place on Augsburg University’s campus with COVID-19 precautions in place.

    Registration begins in January!

    Our camps occur during three separate 1-week sessions: June 20-26, June 27-July 1, and July 5-July 9. Details available on MDAW website.

    $325-1575 (The scholarship priority deadline is April 15th.)
