Moving Online: Youth Work Leaders Training Series 

Social distancing has required that a lot of the important work that youth workers do change to an online platform. Youth workers and programs need support to continue to build relationships and support asset based youth development through online platforms and distance learning. Sprockets is excited to announce that we have received a grant provided by Youthprise’s COVID 19 Emergency Response Fund to support professional development made for youth workers by youth workers.

Sprockets is searching for 10 youth workers who have been impacted through layoff or furlough to support professional development in our communities. These professionals will work in teams of two to create online-based professional development opportunities. Each team will create and deliver a virtual professional development opportunity supporting youth serving organizations to connect with young people needing support and move aspects of their programs online.

Themes include:

1. Distance Learning Best Practices - Best practices for engaging with your youth remotely/online, online facilitation that promotes relationship building and asset based youth development.
2. Youth Voice & Engagement- Creating authentic youth voice and engagement through online programming and distance learning.
3. Equity - Supporting programs and young people to address issues of equity through online and distance learning

A stipend for $1,000 per person will be awarded with completion of the project.
