The Saint Paul Youth Commission is a group of 20 youth from around the City of Saint Paul who work on self-determined, self-directed social justice projects in order to make their community a better place. The youth have already been hard at work preparing for the retreat. The GGAL and YLI leaders have met twice to discuss our vision for the retreat and to organize a fundraiser. The fundraiser, where we cooked and sold our cultural food at Wilder, raised $400 to support the retreat. This success represents the power that collaboration can create. We have much more to learn from each other and are off to a great start!
