Activities for LWOC Students

Twice monthly virtual student sessions

1st Saturday of the month: 7-9 year olds meet via Zoom from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Central Time, and 10-12 year olds meet from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Central Time to engage in activities focused on positive self-image.

3rd Saturday of the month: All students meet together via Zoom at 10:30 a.m. Central Time to hear and learn from a woman of color who is a STEM professional. They will be exposed to various areas of STEM, have the chance to ask questions, and will engage in a STEM-related activity together.

We will mail out quarterly packets in advance, which will include worksheets and materials for our virtual meetings.

 Quarterly In-Person Gatherings

In addition to our regular virtual meetings, every 3 months, we will get together for events like college tours and other group activities in order to get to know each other better, learn and grow together, and continue to enrich our LWOC community.

Activities for Parents

Once monthly virtual parent session

2nd Saturday of the month: Parents meet via Zoom at 12:00 p.m. Central Time for the chance to share their experiences, learn from one another, and exchange resources.

Costs*

Annual: A one time registration fee of $35 will help to cover the cost of each student’s T-shirt, a binder to keep track of monthly activities, and behind the scenes preparation for a wonderful year!

Recurring: We ask parents for a recurring monthly fee of $20. This will cover materials for each month’s activities, quarterly shipping costs, facilitator and/or speaker fees, and will help ensure our program runs as smoothly as possible for our students!
